Graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1979.
Assisted my husband with running our business, Rick Bemmes Enterprises, for 22 years.
I have been happily married to Rick Bemmes, a 1976 Reading graduate, since 1978. Our family has had its roots in Reading for generations. We have three children, all graduates of Reading High School. Gerald, 36, attended Cincinnati State and Southern Ohio College, and is employed at Holthaus Plumbing. Anthony, 35, has his Master from the College of Mount Saint Joseph, currently employed as Director of Rehab at Diversicare of St. Theresa. He and his wife, Nicole, have two children, Victoria, 6, who is in Kindergarten at Reading Central, and Samuel, age 4. Megan, 30, attended The University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of the Ohio Center For Broadcasting. She and her husband, Michael Peterson, have two children, Elijah, 5, and Annabelle, 3. We are family oriented and spend most of our time doing things together. Everyone lives here in Reading, and we are raising the next generation of Blue Devils.
I have a strong commitment to the City of Reading and to the Reading Community Schools. I have worked as a volunteer for many organizations in the City of Reading. I have been a coach for both VYO and SAY, as well as an 18 year volunteer for Reading Swim Team (President for 5 years). In the Reading Schools, I have been Vice President and Fundraising Chair for Reading Central PTO; Levy Campaign Chair; a member of many committees and organizations, including: Venture Capital, Memorandum of Understanding, Parents Helping Parents, Music Boosters and Athletic Boosters. I was an Everybody Counts Team Leader, Early ID Volunteer, Room Mother-just about anywhere needed. I served Booster Lunch at the High School for many years.
I am a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish. I’m an advocate for animal rights, and have several pets, including 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 bunnies, and assorted strays that wind up on my doorstep.
No biography would be complete without mentioning my love of the Cincinnati Reds. I am an avid fan who attends as many games as I possibly can. Baseball is without a doubt my greatest passion.
