About Us


The mission of the Reading Community City Schools, an active and caring community, is to guarantee the development of all students as successful, life-long learners who become contributing citizens after graduation.  This is accomplished by providing a challenging, comprehensive curriculum, best practice instruction, and quality extracurricular activities supported by an exceptional staff in state-of-the-art facilities in partnership with parents and community.

Reading Community City Schools

The Reading Schools has approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades Kindergarten through grade 12. In addition to students who reside within the district, the Reading School District also accepts open enrollment students from outside of the district. Students are only accepted if there are openings within the grade level and school requested. No staff are added to accomodate open enrollment students.
