Class Description:
We have been working on map skills and different weather happenings that have been occurring throughout the world.  Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes and tsunamis have been occurring more often.  We discussed what would be needed in time of an emergency.  Having a first aid kit and a plan is something that should be discussed often in our homes.
Up until the winter break we will be discussing how to use maps and planning a trip within the United States.  The students have picked a location they would like to visit.  The trip starts from Reading and ends at the location they have picked.  The use of Mapquest, search engines, fold out maps and books from AAA, they will be able to see how far they will travel, how much items cost and the occasional unforeseen happening on a trip such as a tire going flat on their car.
