In the spirit of community service and charity, we will be sponsoring The Giving Tree. Numbered oranments are on The Giving Tree in the lobby at Hilltop. Each ornaent is labeled with gift wishes for either a boy or a girl. With the generosity of may of our Hilltop families and friends, we will again be able to carry out this act of kindness this holiday season. If you are interested in participating in this program, simply stop in the lobby for an ornament, call the office at 733-4322, or email dkist@readingschools and an ornament will be emailed to you!
The 2nd Graders at Hilltop were visited by John Gumm, Channel 12's Meterologist. The students had a great time listening and assiting in weather demonstrations. Click on this link to see our Hilltop 2nd Graders featured on the evening news!
There were 15 fifth grade girls that participated in the Girls On The Run program at Hilltop. The girls worked for 10 weeks on training for a 5K race that happened last week at Sawyer Point. They did a magnificent job running throughout the season. Part of their season included learning how to be the best person they can be, including helping others. For their community service project, the girls decided to hold a bake sale to raise money for the St Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Through the bake sale, the girls raised $219! All the money was donated to help fund research for children who are sick or disabled. Congratulations ladies on your hard work and dedication!
Thanksgiving is a holiday of thankfulness, warmth and togetherness. At Hilltop, this spirit will be shared with 11 families. A complete Thanksgiving feast will be donated to these families through the kind generosity of students, staff, and community. A whopping $566.00 was raised from our “Candy Corn” Contest & “How Fat Can Tom Get” fundraisers. Again, thank you for your support and generosity!!
