Mock Trial ended another stellar season Friday, February 7 at the Regional Championship. With an Impressive 19-4 record, the Blue Devil’s season ended one ballot short of another state championship. Reading only dropped ballots to three teams this entire year, Sylvania Southview (7-time state champ and last year’s runner-up), Indian Hill (6-time state champ and last year’s champion) and Oak Hills (3-time state champ).
At regionals this year, they lost 2-1 to Indian Hill and went 3-0 against Mercy-McAuley. Haileigh Ballinger completed the unprecedented feat of winning best witness in every trial this season and Erin Vaughn completed her stellar Mock career with yet another best attorney award. Their performance for the season was spectacular and spirits are high as the team is already preparing for Empire 2020 by recruiting new members and planning fundraising. Congrats to the team on another outstanding season.
