Reading Schools Receives Holiday Donations to Help Students in Need

Giving is usually expected during the holiday season amongst family and friends.  This year Reading Community Schools received some gifts from the community that will impact students.  When a student goes through the lunch line during school, they may not know how much money they may have in their accounts, and this can often lead to embarrassing situations where a student needs more money in their account to pay for their lunch.  Community members this year wanted to make sure students didn’t go through the embarrassment of being informed that they do not have enough money in their account to receive the typical school lunch.  As a result, community members donated $2500 to cover the costs for students who may not have enough money in their accounts.  We are grateful for these kind donations and truly know it will make a difference for students.  This generosity shows what truly a great place Reading is to live and learn in!
