Reading Junior Senior High School's Top 10 Night honored ten outstanding students who have achieved academic excellence throughout their high school career. The valedictorian, Grace Longworth, earned a remarkable 5.1 GPA and will attend the University of Pittsburgh to major in Political Science. The salutatorian, Halaia Larkin, earned a 4.65 GPA and will attend the University of Cincinnati to pursue a degree in nursing.
Reem Habli, who came in third, earned a 4.63 GPA and will attend UC Blue Ash to study Psychology. Fourth place went to Austin Vaughn, who earned a 4.59 GPA and will attend Clemson University to study Criminology and Forensics. Ethan Street, who earned a 4.56 GPA, will attend the University of Cincinnati to study Sports Management. Chloe Watts, who earned a 4.43 GPA, will attend Ohio University to study Psychology. Andrew Weinrich, who earned a 4.37 GPA, will attend the University of Akron to study Civil Engineering. Brooklyn Oliver, who earned a 4.32 GPA, will attend Ohio University to study Forensic Chemistry.
Benny Hess and Olivia Simpson tied for 9th place, both earning a 4.29 GPA. Benny will attend Muskingum University to study Engineering and play baseball, while Olivia will attend Mount Vernon Nazarene University to study Elementary Education and play soccer.
During the ceremony, each of the ten students honored one teacher, coach, or mentor who had a significant impact on their high school career. These mentors were recognized for their support, encouragement, and guidance that helped shape the students' academic and personal growth.
