Reading Junior/Senior High School is expanding its manufacturing pathway through a hands-on partnership with the Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP). With AMIP’s support, the school’s Manufacturing course now brings industry tools, real-world equipment, and practical training directly into the classroom. Students build skills in precision measurement, materials processes, safety, and production workflows through engaging, project-based activities aligned to modern manufacturing standards.
As part of the course, students earn two nationally recognized credentials: the NIMS Measurement, Materials, and Safety (MMS) credential and the Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) credential. These certifications give students a strong foundation for employment, apprenticeships, or advanced training. “By connecting students to real industry expectations, we’re opening doors to meaningful future opportunities,” said Todd Schilling, Career-Based Learning Coordinator. The partnership with AMIP continues to strengthen Reading’s commitment to providing future-ready, career-connected learning for all students.
