The Junior and Varsity Reading Dance Teams kicked off their competitive seasons in impressive fashion this past Sunday at the Batesville Dance Competition, hosted by Batesville High School. Both teams delivered strong performances across multiple styles, earning top finishes and recognition from the judges.
The Junior Dance Team showcased their versatility and growth throughout the day. Their Jazz routine earned an Ultimate Star Rating and a 3rd place finish, while their Lyrical routine received a Showcase Star Rating and 2nd place honors. The team continued its success with an Ultimate Star Rating in Pom, and capped off the competition with an Ultimate Star Rating and 2nd place finish in Hip Hop.
The Varsity Dance Team also had an outstanding day on the competition floor. Their Jazz routine earned a Showcase Star Rating, a 1st place finish, and a prestigious Judges’ Choice – Most Entertaining Award. Varsity followed that performance with another 1st place finish in Lyrical, earning a Showcase Star Rating. The team also received an Ultimate Star Rating for Pom, and a Showcase Star Rating with a 3rd place finish in Hip Hop.
Congratulations to both the Junior and Varsity Dance Teams on an excellent start to the season. Their hard work, preparation, and commitment were on full display, and we are proud of the way they represented Reading.
The Reading Dance Teams will be back in action this coming Saturday as they compete at the Franklin Dance Competition. We wish them the best of luck as they continue their season.
